O R D E R

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to set aside the order made in Crl.M.P.No.1773 of 2024 in Crl.M.P.No.732 of 2024 on the file of the Principal Sessions Court, Madurai, dated 28.03.2024. 2.The petitioners are accused in Crime No.7 of 2024. Apprehending arrest for the offence under Sections 498(A), 406 and 506(i) of IPC, they have approached the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Madurai and filed a petition in Crl.M.P.No.732 of 2024, for anticipatory bail. The learned Sessions Judge, by order dated 29.02.2024, has also granted anticipatory bail to the petitioners with a condition that the petitioners shall furnish the sureties within a period of fifteen days. The period of fifteen days provided by the Sessions Court for executing the sureties was over on 16.03.2024.

Since the petitioners could not furnish the sureties in time, they filed an application for extension of time to furnish the sureties in Crl.M.P.No.1773 of 2024 on 22.03.2024 after eight days. The said application was dismissed by the Sessions Court on 28.03.2024. As against the same, the petitioners have filed the present application before this Court.

3.Since the application for extension has been filed after eight days from the date of expiry, the Sessions Court has dismissed the application. 2/4

In view of the above, this Court finds no error in the order passed by the Sessions Court and hence, this petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioners to move a fresh application for anticipatory bail. 29.04.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet:Yes sji To 1.The Principal Sessions Court, Madurai.
