ORDER

This writ petition has been filed in the nature of mandamus seeking a direction to the first respondent to furnish information as sought for by the petitioner on 05.12.2022.

2. In the affidavit filed, it had been stated that the writ petitioner had been residing in Door No.14/1/1, Shankar Colony, Anna Nagar, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli-627 002, for the past more than 25 years. It had been stated that he had also constructed a house in that particular place. He had also applied for water supply connection. The house is also assessed to property tax. It had been stated that from the year 2012, the Tirunelveli Municipal Corporation had issued demand note in the name of a dead person called Joseph. This 2/4

necessitated the petitioner herein to seek information under the Right to Information Act. The matter has proceeded by way of appeal and is now finally pending before the first respondent.

3. A direction is given to the first respondent to examine the appeal filed by the petitioner herein and thereafter, after following due procedure, comply with the same and give the requisite details on or before 31.12.2023.
