Mr.D.Muruganantham, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.
2.The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the first respondent to renew the Pistol License No.150/1 MST No. 36144 pursuant to the application of the petitioner dated 20.11.2014.
3. It is stated that the petitioner made an application seeking for renewal of Pistol License before the District Collector, Madurai and such application was transferred to the first respondent by the proceedings of the second respondent dated 25.09.2015. It is further stated that the first respondent has not passed any order so far in pursuant to such transfer of the application.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the application of the petitioner will be considered and decided on merits and in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. He further submitted that in cases of any necessity, the petitioner may be called upon to appear for further enquiry and the petitioner has to comply with. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
5. Considering the above stated facts and circumstances, the first respondent is directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 20.11.2014 seeking for renewal of Pistol License and pass order on the same on merits and in accordance with law after hearing the petitioner as well. Such exercise shall be done by the first respondent within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. NO costs.
