ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to respondents 1 to 3 to take appropriate action forthwith to shift TASMAC Retail Outlet No.6806, situated at Door No.3/38-6, Five Corner Road, Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram District, to some other locality, based on the petitioner's representations dated 13.10.2025 and 05.12.2025. 2.The grievance of the petitioner is that the said TASMAC retail outlet has been established and is being run by the fifth respondent in violation of Rule 8(1) of the Tamil Nadu Liquor Retail Vending (in Shops and Bars) Rules, 2003.
3.According to the petitioner, the said shop is located in close proximity to schools, a Primary Health Centre, places of worship, and police establishments, thereby causing inconvenience and hardship to the general 3/7
public, particularly women and passers-by. Based on information obtained under the Right to Information Act, the petitioner contends that the location of the shop violates the prescribed distance norms. 4.Though the petitioner submitted representations dated 13.10.2025 and 05.12.2025 to the respondents seeking relocation of the said outlet, no action has been taken. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
5.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side. 6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the authority concerned to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 13.10.2025 and 05.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as any other interested parties. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the 4/7
date of receipt of a copy of this order.
