PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to either prevent the conduct of the Jallikattu event at Ganapathipuram Village, Pudukkottai District unless it is inclusive of all communities including the Paraiyar Community, or to deny permission for such and event if it excludes the Paraiyar Community on the grounds of caste discriminations on the basis of the representations given by the petitioner dated 17.03.2025 and 21.03.2025 within a time stipulated by this Court.

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] With reference to the relief sought for in the present writ petition, the learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that a peace committee meeting was conducted by the Tashildar, Pudukottai and a decision was taken that no villager should be excluded from participating in Jallikattu Festival.

2.In view of the said decision, no further adjudication needs to be undertaken. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. In the event of any such exclusion by any person, permission and other benefits from the Government side will be denied. There shall be no order as to costs.
