Notice had been directed to the third respondent. Notice has been served on 27.04.2023. The name and address of the third respondent is printed in the cause list.

The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction against the first respondent, Revenue Divisional Officer, Melur, Madurai District to dispose of a pending petition in Petition No.9985 of 2022 filed by the third respondent herein. In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it had been stated that there has been a dispute between the petitioner and the third respondent that was under the purview of the police officials of Silaiman Police Station. At that time, the third respondent had produced a copy of a petition which he had given to the first respondent and numbered as Petition No.9985 of 2022 and stated that the said police officials have no jurisdiction to conduct enquiry.

3. The first respondent may pass orders on the pending petition within a period of 10 working days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Since that direction is given to the first respondent, there is no examination on 2/4

the merits of the case. The first respondent may, however, keep in mind that the first respondent is only a quasi judicial authority and not a Court as defined under the Code of Civil Procedure and the power to grant injunction orders are negligible in fact non existent for quasi judicial authorities. 4.This Writ Petition stands disposed of.
