Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned order vide C.No.R2/150/2017 dated 31.07.2017 on the file of the 2nd respondent and quash the same and direct the respondents to hold re-measurement of the Petitioner's height and proceed with further process in the Common Recruitment for the posts of Gr.II Police Constables (Men, Women & Third Gender), Gr.II Jail Warders (Men & Women) and Firemen for the year 2017.

JUDGMENT
(Judgment of the Court was delivered by THE HON'BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE) This appeal is against the judgment and order dated 17.08.2017 passed by the learned Single Bench rejecting the writ petition which was directed against rejection of the candidature of the petitioner/appellant for the post of Police Constable Grade-II of Tamil Nadu Police.
2.The requisite height for appointment as Grade-II Police Constable is 170 cms for men and 159 cms for women. From the judgment and order under appeal, it appears that on physical measurement, the height of the appellant was found to be 158 cms and upon digital measurement, it was found to be 157.7 cms. 3.Since the appellant did not satisfy the requisite height criteria, her candidature was rejected. It is not for the Writ Court either to waive or relax the eligibility criteria with regard to the minimum height or to adjudicate factual disputes with regard to the correctness of the measurement of height by the authorities concerned. There is no infirmity in the judgment and order under appeal.
