O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate (Additional Mahila) Court, Thanjavur to expedite the trial C.C No.30 of 2023 and to conclude the same within the period stipulated by this Court.

2.According to the petitioner, she is the defacto complainant in this case. Based on the complaint, a case in Crime No. 3 of 2017 has been registered for the offence under sections 498(A), 494 and 506(i) IPC. Thereafter, the Respondent police has filed a final report and the same has been taken into cognizance by the trial Court in CC No. 30 of 2023. So far, no witnesses were examined in this case. Therefore, this petition has been filed.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that now the case is pending for framing of charges and they will co-operate with the trial Court for speedy disposal by producing the witnesses as per the direction of the trial Court.

4.Considering the prayer sought for by the Petitioner and the case is pending from year 2017, this Court hereby directs the Trial Court to complete the trial proceedings in CC No.30 of 2023 as early as possible without granting any long adjournment beyond one week. 5.With the above observations and directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
