This criminal original petition has been filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.977 of 2020, pending on the file of the first respondent. 2.The learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner submitted that the respondent police has not filed a final report in the case registered in the year 2020 within a stipulated time.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the investigation has already been completed. But for want of opinion from the concerned Public Prosecutor, they could not file the final report.

4.This Court considered the rival submissions made. 5.There is no necessity for getting an opinion for filing a final report. If the investigation has already been completed, the respondent police is expected to file the final report immediately. 2/5

6.With the above observation, this criminal original petition is closed with a direction to the respondent police to file a final report within a period of two weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the event, if the petitioner has any ground other than the limitation ground, it is always open to the petitioner to challenge the final report to be filed.
