ORDER

This petition is filed by the petitioner to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.III, Thoothukudi, to expedite the trial proceedings and dispose the case in C.C.No.897 of 2017, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, he is the first accused in this case and the case is pending from 2017 onwards. So far, only 3 witnesses were examined. Therefore, he filed this petition seeking for speedy disposal of the said case.

3. The learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submits that P.W.1 to P.W.3 had been examined and now, the case is posted for examination of further witnesses. He further submits that the respondent is ready to co-operate for speedy trial by producing the witnesses as directed by the trial Court.

4. Considering the prayer sought for in this petition and the case is pending from 2017, this Court directs the learned Judicial Magistrate 2/4

No.III, Thoothukudi, to complete the trial proceedings in C.C.No.897 of 2017 as early as possible, without giving long adjournment beyond one week.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
