: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned order made by the first respondent in G.O.Ms.No.398, Revenue N.M.7 Department, dated 19.08.2010, quash the same as illegal and consequently, forbear the respondents from effecting any construction or converting the water body for any other purpose in S.Kodikulam Lake in Survey No.57/1 situated at North Alagarkovil Road, Madurai, classified as water body within the time that may be stipulated by this Court. O R D E R

*********** [Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.] The petitioner has come up with this Public Interest Litigation, challenging the order of the first respondent in G.O.Ms.No.398, Revenue N.M.7 Department, dated 19.08.2010, and to forbear the respondents from effecting any construction or converting the water body for any other purpose in S.Kodikulam Lake in Survey No.57/1 in North Alagarkovil Road, Madurai.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up, Mr.M.Govindan, leaned Special Government Pleader, on instructions from the official respondents, submitted that the said proposal has been dropped and thus, there will be no construction made on the lake. The said statement is recorded.

3. The Writ Petition, thus, has become infructuous and the same, accordingly, is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are also dismissed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar /True Copy/ Sub-Assistant Registrar To 1.The Secretary to Government.
