Respondents in W.P.Nos.3859 and 3860/14 PRAYER IN W.P.(MD)No.3859 of 2014: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of declaration to declare Section 4(1)(d), 4(2) and the second provisio to Section 4(3) of Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013 (Act No.1 of 2014) which has been published in Government of India Gazette No.1 dated 01.01.2014 as null and void and ultra vires under Articles 14, 21 and 50 of the Constitution of India.

PRAYER IN W.P.(MD)No.3860 of 2014: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of declaration to declare the Search Committee (Constitution, Terms and Conditions of appointment of members and the manner of selection of panel of names for appointment of Chairperson and Members of Lokpal) Rules, 2014, which has been published in the Government of India gazette dated 17.01.2014 in F.No.407/02/2014 AVD-IV(B) as null and void as it is contrary to Sections 3 and 4 of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013 and ultra vires under Article 14 of the Constitution of India.
