ORDER:- This Writ Petition is coming on for orders on this day under the caption "FOR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR TRIAL COURT" and upon perusing the earlier orders of this Court dated 12.07.2022 and 27.06.2023 and upon perusing the letter received from the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Special Court under E.C and NDPS Act Cases, Thanjavur, Principal District Judge, Thanjavur (Full Additional Charge) in D.No.1544/2024 dated 11.03.2024 seeking further extension of six months time for disposal of the cases in O.S.No.130/2019, O.S.No.179/2019, O.S.No.6/2020, 2/5

O.S.No.42/2020 and O.S.No.195/2022 on the file of the Principal District Court, Thanjavur this Court made the following order: Today, this case is listed under the caption for "Extension of Time for Trial Court".

It is seen from the records that this Court, vide order dated 12.07.2022, has directed the learned Principal District Judge, Thanjavur, to club all the four suits and conduct a joint trial and dispose of the same within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. Subsequently, in the petition filed in W.M.P. (MD)No.21707 of 2022 in W.P.(MD)No.9985 of 2021, this Court, vide order dated 21.12.2022 has directed the trial Court to dispose of the four suits along with another suit in O.S.No.195 of 2022 granting six months further time. Subsequently, at the request of the learned Principal District Judge, six months further time was granted to dispose of the four suits along with suit in O.S.No.195 of 2022 vide order dated 27.06.2023.

Now, the learned Additional District Judge, who is holding full additional charge of Principal District Judge, has submitted a requisition dated 11.03.2024 stating that Principal District Judge is on earned leave for 30 days and unearned leave for 58 days and he is holding Full Additional Charge of the Principal District 3/5

Judge, Thanjavur and that interim stay has been granted for O.S.No.195 of 2022 and seeks suitable direction to proceed with the cases.

4. It is evident from the records that revision petition in C.R.P.(MD)No.1583 of 2023, in which interim order was granted, was already disposed of on 15.03.2024.

5. Considering the reasons assigned, the learned Principal District Judge, Thanjavur, is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the suits within the time sought for. Accordingly, six months further time is granted from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
