O R D E R

This petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C., praying to call for the records relating to the case in Crime No.46 of 2014 under Sections 294(b), 324, 506(ii) IPC and Section 4 of the Women Harassment Act, on the file of the 1st respondent and quash the same.

2.Today when the matter is taken up for hearing in the morning, the petitioner/A2 and the de-facto complainant along with their counsel appeared in person. They have filed a joint Memorandum of compromise stating that the matter has already been compromised between the parties and the de-facto complainant has no objection to quash the entire proceedings in respect of Crime No.46 of 2014 stating that the disputes have been settled between them. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would

submit that the petitioner is ready to denote Rs.20,000/- to Rojavanam Homeless & Aged Care Centre, Melur Road, Uthankudy, Madurai.

3.In view of the above, this court directed the petitioner to pay Rs.20,000/- to Rojavanam Homeless & Aged Care Centre, Melur Road, Uthankudy, Madurai and also this court dispensed with the appearance of the parties.

4.In the afternoon, when the matter is called, a Demand Draft bearing No.009802 drawn on Indian Bank, High Court Branch, for a sum of Rs.20,000/- has been produced. In view of the statement made by the parties and the joint compromise memo filed by them, no fruitful purpose will be achieved to proceed further in this matter.

5.In view of that, this petition is allowed and the entire proceedings in respect of Crime No.46 of 2014 on the file of the 1st respondent, is quashed. The joint compromise memo shall form part of the record.
