ORDER

The petitioners sought for quashing of the impugned FIR in Crime No. 14 of 2023 on the file of the first respondent police, for the alleged offences under Sections 406, 420 and 506 (i) IPC.

2. The allegation against the petitioners is that due to money dispute, the petitioners had abused the defacto complainant in filthy language and also cheated her.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned counsel for the defacto complainant/the second respondent would submit that the parties have now entered into a compromise on the advise of the elders and well-wishers and both the parties have agreed that the impugned F.I.R may be quashed.

4. The parties have also filed a joint compromise memo dated 23rd December 2024 as well as the affidavit of the defacto complainant. The scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows: 2/10

5. The petitioners and the second respondent (Aadhaar No.4406 3279 5830) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by M/s.S.Mahalakshmi, S.S.I., CCB, Trichy City. Both the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

6. Considering the fact that the F.I.R discloses predominantly a money dispute and the parties have arrived at a compromise, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned FIR pending investigation. Accordingly, the impugned FIR in Crime No. 14 of 2023 on the file of the first respondent police, is hereby quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
