ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The writ on hand has been instituted to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to initiate appropriate disciplinary proceedings against the respondents 6 and 8. 2.The sixth respondent is the District Collector, Madurai and the eighth respondent is the District Revenue Officer, Madurai. 3.It is found that the District Collector has conducted an enquiry and passed appropriate orders, holding that certain applicants seeking free house site pattas were found to be not eligible and accordingly, their applications were rejected.

4.If at all any irregularity or illegality has been identified, all appropriate actions are to be initiated in the manner known to law. However, the present Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner as Public Interest Litigation. 5.The petitioner states that the report submitted by the sixth respondent is false.

6.This Court is of the considered opinion that the District Collector, Madurai has rejected the applications in respect of ineligible persons. If at all any illegality exists, the petitioner is at liberty to submit an appropriate complaint before the competent authority for the initiation of action. In the event of receiving any such complaint, the competent authority may look into the same and if necessary, initiate all further actions in accordance with law. 7.With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
