O R D E R

The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 3 to give adequate police protection for conducting Aadi festival in Arulmigu Nathiyootru Naalukaal Mandabam Sri Sudalaimada Swamy Temple in Mahadhevankulam village, Thisayanvilai, Tirunelveli District on 27.07.2018 in a peaceful manner.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. According to the petitioner, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents on 22.06.2018 seeking permission to conduct Aadi festival in Arulmigu Nathiyootru Naalukaal Mandabam https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Sri Sudalaimada Swamy Temple in Mahadhevankulam village, Thisayanvilai, Tirunelveli District on 27.07.2018 and for adequate police protection for the function.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that the village people have not conducted the temple festival for the past three years, because of the acts of some miscreants. Now, the village people have joined together and planned to conduct the Adi festival in in Arulmigu Nathiyootru Naalukaal Mandabam Sri Sudalaimada Swamy Temple in Mahadhevankulam village, Thisayanvilai, Tirunelveli District, in a peaceful manner, but some of the people are trying to create problems during the festival day. He further submitted that, the petitioner is ready to comply all the conditions imposed by the respondents at the time of granting permission. 5.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has stated that some law and order problems are likelihood during the festival.

6.In the light of the above submissions made by the parties, without going into the merits of this case, this Court is of the view that the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.06.2018 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
