O R D E R

The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent to grant permission and necessary protection to conduct cultural Programs including Villisai Katcheri scheduled to be conducted at 8.00 p.m., on 11.04.2023, Karakaattam scheduled to be conducted at 8.00 p.m., on 12.04.2023 and dance program namely Adal Padal scheduled to be conducted at 8.00 p.m., on 13.04.2023 at Arulmigu Sri Kaliamman Temple, Sannasipatti, Sivakasi Taluk, Virudhunagar District, during the occasion of annual festival, based on the representation dated 04.04.2023 and 07.04.2023.

2. Mr. R.Sureshkumar, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/5

The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that festival for the temple, by name, "Arulmigu Sri Kaliamman Temple, Sannasipatti, Sivakasi Taluk, Virudhunagar District", is going to be held on 11.04.2023 to 13.04.2023. Subsequent to the same, in order to conduct a cultural programme on 11.04.2023 to 13.04.2023, they sought permission of the Police by giving a representation dated 04.04.2023 and 07.04.2023. But, the third respondent has not considered the said representation. Since no order was passed, the writ petitioner has come before this Court for the above said relief.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents would submit even though the programs are scheduled to be conducted for three days, it may be restricted to one day.

5. Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), the restriction may be imposed by the competent authority upon the petitioner with regard to the days of programs. The above said competent authority shall be disposed of the above said representation given by the petitioner dated 04.04.2023 and 07.04.2023 immediately.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
