PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant all benefits including shares, share dividend, thrifts amount, F.B.S benefits along with 12 percent interest entitled by father of the petitioner based on the petitioner's representation dated 15.06.2022 within a time stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner/ son of one Balakumar has filed this writ petition, seeking a Writ of Mandamus as against the respondents to grant shares and dividends and other benefits together with 12% interest, due to the petitioner's father. According to the petitioner, his father Balakumar served in the State Express Transport Corporation (TN) Ltd., and he is a member of the Transport Corporation Employees Co-Operative Thrift and Credit Society Ltd./the third respondent herein. His membership number is 11597. He retired 2/6
from service in the year 2006 and the said Balakumar died in the year 2012. Thereafter, this petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for the above relief in the year 2023. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the third respondent by referring to the proceedings dated 06.06.2025 submits that the representation of the petitioner was duly considered and he was also informed that all the benefits due to the petitioner's father Balakumar have already been settled by the third respondent. A copy of the proceedings, dated 06.06.2025 is also furnished to the learned counsel for the petitioner. Moreover, the third respondent has filed a counter affidavit before this Court that this petitioner's father has availed a loan for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- from the third respondent Society, on 17.05.2001 and it was closed on 22.04.2004.
The petitioner's father is entitled for a share capital of Rs.11,500/- along with family benefit of Rs.4,415/- and other benefits to an extent of Rs.44,304/-.
bearing No.192398, Canara Bank, Nandanam Branch, Chennai. The surety closure amount of Rs.37,250/- was also paid to the petitioner's father through cheque No.192400 of Canara Bank, Nandanam Branch, Chennai.
3.Recording the aforesaid submissions made by the learned counsel for the third respondent, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed. 03.12.2025 NCC: Yes/No Index:Yes/No vrn 4/6
