: Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to restore the petitioner's electricity service connection No.434/003/612 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 28.06.2018, within the period stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioner is a consumer under the respondent Electricity Board. There are certain proceedings initiated against her for theft of energy by using illegal methods. It appears that the petitioner has paid the compounding fee and compounded the criminal charge. Now, a direction was issued to the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.41,000/- towards compensation towards the energy consumption. In this regard, the petitioner sent a representation dated 28.06.2018 and the same is pending without disposal. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court with the present Writ Petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

3. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner in the present Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, a direction is issued to the third respondent to consider the interim request of the petitioner through representation dated 28.06.2018 for restoration of electricity, on payment of 50% of the compensatory cost imposed by the respondents and pass orders, within a period of two weeks and final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
