2.Considering the nature of relief to be granted in this petition, notice to the private respondents is dispensed with. 1/4
2 W.P.(MD)No.9551 of 2020 3.The petitioner is a senior citizen. He had given a petition dated 02.07.2020 under the Maintenance and Welfare of Senior Citizens Act, 2007 before the third respondent. The petitioner wants consideration of the said petition. The petitioner states that he had already settled his property in favour of the fifth respondent who is none other than his son. 4.Cases of this nature will have to be speedily and expeditiously disposed of. The third respondent is the competent authority. Therefore, the third respondent is directed to dispose of the petition mentioned petition on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The third respondent has to necessarily put the private respondents herein on notice before disposing of the petition.
I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. Merely because, I have allowed this writ petition it does not mean that I have found merit in the claim of the petitioner. The defences of the private respondents herein are left entirely open. All that I have directed is only a speedy disposal of the petitioner's representation. I give this direction at the admission stage itself after putting the learned Special Government Pleader on notice because the petitioner is a senior citizen. 5.The Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
