ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction to the first respondent, Regional passport Officer, Madurai, to process the application of the petitioner in No.MD2064997714323 dated 23.01.2023 for issuance of passport to the petitioner.

2. It has been informed that a FIR in Crime No.213/2021 had been registered against the petitioner herein, since during the Covid-19 lockdown, he had violated the guidelines issued at that particular point of time. It is still at the stage of FIR and final report had not been filed.

3. A direction is given to the first respondent to proceed further with examining the aforesaid application given by the petitioner herein for issuance of passport and process the same within a period of fuor weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
