PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus to call for the records on the file of the second respondent in connection with the impugned order of rejection passed by him in his proceedings in Ref.No:Pon1/1811/2018 dated 05.02.2021 and quash the same as arbitrary and illegal and consequently direct the respondents (i) to appoint the petitioner as regular time scale social forestry worker by taking into account of his seniority and qualification on par with his juniors notionally in the light of common order passed in W.P.Nos.302 etc., dated 04.06.2012 and (ii) to count half of the service rendered by him as social forestry worker from 01.04.1982 to 31.12.2004 along with regular service rendered by him from 03.01.2005 till 31.08.2015 in the light of the letter issued by the first respondent in Letter No.22246/FR. 2(II)/2018-1, dated 19.02.2020, within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

This writ petition has been filed for a writ of certiorarified mandamus to call for the records on the file of the second respondent in connection with the impugned order of rejection passed by him vide proceedings in Ref.No:Pon1/1811/2018 dated 05.02.2021 and quash the same as arbitrary and illegal and consequently to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as a regular time scale social forestry worker by taking into account of his seniority and qualification on par with his juniors notionally in the light of common order passed by this Court in W.P.No.302 of 2012 and batch dated 04.06.2012 and to count half of the service rendered by him as social forestry worker from 01.04.1982 to 31.12.2004 along with regular service rendered by him from 03.01.2005 till 31.08.2015 in the light of the letter issued by the first respondent in Letter No.22246/FR.2(II)/2018-1, dated 19.02.2020, within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.
2. Today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, it is brought to the notice of this Court by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 that the relief sought for in this writ petition has been granted to the petitioner by the Government vide its
order issued in G.O.(2D) No.58, Environment, Climate Change and Forest (FR. 2(ii)) Department, dated 07.06.2024.
3. This Court, after having perused the said Government Order, is convinced that the relief sought for in this writ petition has been granted by the respondents and the cause in this writ petition does not survive any more.
4. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed as having become infructuous. However, it is made clear that in case the petitioner has got any grievance against the order issued in G.O.(2D) No.58, Environment, Climate Change and Forest (FR.2(ii)) Department, dated 07.06.2024, it is open to him to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.
