O R D E R
The petitioner in this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeks a direction to the Investigation Officer in Crime No.5 of 2015 to complete the investigation and file the final report expeditiously.
2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, lot of time has been taken by the Investigation Officer. Even now, the investigation is not completed.
3. Learned Government Advocate (crl. side) would submit that the Investigation Officer has examined 72 witnesses and recovered 95 documents. He has to verify lot of records and the matter relates to several periods relating to Transport Corporation. However, efforts will be taken to complete the investigation at an early date. In the circumstances, minimum three months time is needed to complete the investigation.
4. This matter relates to alleged misusing of Transport Corporation's fund. The speedy trial now has been extended to speedy investigation. It is not one way. It is not only the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
accused even complainants, victims can also ask for quick disposal of the cases given/initiated by them.
5. We understand the enormous work involved in the case. But at the same time, we are not to give long rope to the Investigation Officer.
6. In the circumstances, the Investigation Officer is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.5/2015 within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and he will file the final report as per law before the concerned court.
7.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
