The petitioner filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to conclude the enquiry based on the petitioner's representation dated 10.03.2025.

2.As I am not passing any adverse orders against the respondents 2 to 7, notice to them is dispensed with.

3.The petitioner states that she is the resident of No.193, Saverior Kovil Street, Kulasekaranpattinam, Tiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District. She states that her brother one Thommai Antony Ravi had executed a gift deed in her favour in the year 2012. The gift deed is registered as Document No.2282 of 2012. The 2nd respondent, who is none else than the other sibling of the petitioner, and his family namely, the respondents 3 to 7, attempted to dispossess the petitioner from the said property. When she resisted, she was assaulted on 23.12.2023. This assault again continued on 28.02.2025.

4.Aggrieved by the acts of the respondents, the petitioner invoked Chapter-V of the Maintenance and Welfare of the Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, and lodged a complaint with the 1st respondent on 10.03.2025. As the same had not been taken on file, the petitioner has come forward with the present writ petition.

5.When the matter came up for hearing, Mr.S.Shaji Bino, Special Government Pleader on instructions reports that the petition dated 10.03.2025 has been taken on file by the 1st respondent and he has issued notice to the private respondents on 26.03.2025. He states that the hearing of the petition will be conducted on 11.04.2025 at 11.00 AM. Mr.S.Shaji Bino requests 12 weeks time to dispose of the petition. 6.As the life and property of a senior citizen are involved, I am inclined to direct the 1st respondent to conclude the enquiry within a period of eight (8) weeks from the first date of hearing, i.e., 11.04.2025. 3/5
