: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.12.2014 and to direct the respondents to extent the four lane road from Madurai to Ramanthapuram.

*********** [Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.] The petitioner has come up with this Public Interest Litigation to consider his representation dated 17.12.2014, wherein he has requested the respondents to extent the four lane road from Madurai to Ramanthapuram, as early as possible. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. We have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent, the learned Assistant Solicitor General of India appearing for the second respondent and we have also perused the records carefully.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that as desired by the Hon'ble Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, the project to make four lane road between Madurai and Paramakudi was completed. However, the proposal for four lane road between Paramakudi and Ramanathapuram is under active consideration of the respondents.

4. The said submission made by the learned counsel for the learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent is recorded.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to expedite the process. No costs.
