PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to furnish a copy of the order passed by the 2nd respondent relating to cancellation of patta of the petitioner in respect of the land in Survey No. 747/1 to an extent of 1.25.0 Hectares, Vilpatti Village, Kodaikanal, Dindigul District, within the time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondents to furnish a copy of the order passed by the 2nd respondent, relating to cancellation of patta issued in favour of the petitioner in respect of the land in S.No. 747/1, measuring to an extent of 1.25.0 Hectares situated at Vilpatti Village, Kodaikanal, Dindigul District.

2.By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.According to the petitioner, he made a representation dated 18.07.2020 to the respondents with the relief sought for in the 1/3

prayer. So far, no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4.In reply, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 18.07.2020, would be considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5.Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer made by the petitioner and considering the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, is inclined to pass the following directions:- i) the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.07.2020 and to furnish a copy of the order passed by the 2nd respondent, relating to cancellation of patta issued in favour of the petitioner in respect of the aforesaid property. If there is any impediment for the 2nd respondent to furnish the copy of the said order to the petitioner, the 2nd respondent shall inform the same to the petitioner, describing reason for the same.

ii) the aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order; 6.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
