This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adal Padal scheduled to be held on 03.07.2018 at night 09.00 to 12.00 hours in connection with "Aani Festival" in Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Kovil at Nathakulam Village, Vellariodai, Ramanathapuram District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.06.2018.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has made a representation dated 22.06.2018 for conducting Adal Padal, in connection with "Aani https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Festival" at Nathakulam Village, Vellariodai, Ramanathapuram District. Since the said representation has not been considered so far, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition for the aforesaid relief.
4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 22.06.2018 was not received by the respondent police. 5.It is seen from the postal receipt, which clearly shows that the said representation was only despatched on 02.07.2018. 6.Considering the aforesaid submissions, this Court cannot give any direction as sought for in the petition. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. However, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.06.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
