PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to permit the petitioner and his family members to participate in the temple Panguni Thiruvizha being conducted on 01.04.2026 and 02.04.2026 at Sri Chinnamman and Sri Krishnan Temple Situated at Thottapanayakanur Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District and collect Vari from us and offer poojas in the said temple on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2026. ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to permit the petitioner and his family members to participate in the temple Panguni Thiruvizha being conducted on 01.04.2026 and 02.04.2026 at Sri Chinnamman and Sri Krishnan Temple Situated at Thottapanayakanur Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District and collect Vari from us and offer poojas in the said temple on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2026. 2/6

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner and his family have been excommunicated by the 6th to 8th respondents from participating in the aforesaid temple festival.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents submitted that the private respondents had already appeared before the respondent police and furnished a written undertaking expressing their no objection to the petitioner's family participating in the aforesaid temple festival, upon payment of the necessary temple contribution (thp).

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials placed before this Court. Since no adverse order is proposed to be passed against the private respondents, notice to them is dispensed with.

5. Considering the submissions made on either side, the petitioner and his family members are directed to pay the necessary temple contribution (thp). The private respondents are directed to receive the same and permit the petitioner and his family members to participate in all functions pertaining to the aforesaid temple festival.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 25.03.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No sm Note: Issue order copy on 26.03.2026.
