O R D E R

This writ petition is filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pass necessary orders to grant permission to the petitioner's village namely Panangudi, to setup a separate Mandagappadi (kz;lfg;go), during the festival of Arulmighu Kaadatha Natchiamman Temple, Kaadathanpatti, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by considering his representation, dated 29.04.2022.

2. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken 1/3

up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Mr.Gandhi Rajan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3. Mr.G.Mathavan, learned counsel takes notice for the fourth respondent.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he hails from Panangudi Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukottai Temple. Every year, irrespective of community, the villagers of Pannangudi Village and nearby villagers used to celebrate festival in Arulmighu Kadatha Natchiamman Temple join together, conduct the festival and maintain social harmony. During the festival, each village will be given "Mandagappadi (kz;lfg;go)" rights. But, the villagers of Panangudi village have not been given any right to perform Mangapapadi rights so far. Hence, the petitioner, being the representative of the villagers of Panangudi Village, made a representation to the respondents on 29.04.2022, requesting them to grant permission to set up a separate Mandappadi for Panangudi Village. Since there is no response from the respondents, the petitioner is before this Court with the present writ petition.

Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the petition, this Court issues a direction to the first respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.04.2022 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
