Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to direct the III Additional District and Sessions Judge (Special Judge for PCR Cases), Madurai to accept the petitioner's surrender and consider the bail application on the same day in connection with Crime No.1375 of 2020, on the file of the second respondent in accordance with law.

ORDER:- This Criminal Miscellaneous Petition coming on for orders on this day and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Mr.A.Selvakumar, Advocate for the Petitioner and of Mr.R.M.Anbunithi, Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents 1 and 2, this Court made the following order:

This petition has been filed to extend the time granted in the order dated 04.11.2021, made in Crl.O.P(MD) No.12380 of 2020, on the file of this Court.

2.Today, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that subsequent to the above order, the mother of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

CRL MP(MD). No.4081 of 2021 petitioner was affected by COVID-19 and later the petitioner also came to be affected by COVID-19. Therefore, he was not in a position to surrender before the concerned Court and produce sureties and hence seek time to surrender.

3. Considering the request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, 15 days time is extended from the date of resumption of normal work in the Subordinate Courts.

4.Accordingly, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is ordered.
