The writ petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents particularly, the first respondent / District Collector, Theni District, on a representation given by the petitioner on 13.04.2022 seeking patta for Survey No.625, Chinnamanur, Theni.

2. The father of the petitioner was a freedom fighter and he had been recognized by the Government of India. Agricultural lands as assignments were provided to freedom fighters. The aforementioned land was assigned to the father of the petitioner herein. It was only a temporary assignment. The petitioner has sought permanent assignment. In this connection, he had given a representation on 13.04.2022. 2/5

3. Let the first respondent get necessary instructions from the second respondent and thereafter, issue notice to the petitioner herein and enquire into the entire aspects. The orders in the representation may be passed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
