O R D E R

This Writ Petition has filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondent to grant permission and police protection for the 'Vaikasi Thiruvizha' function to be held between 30.05.2022 to 12.06.2022 at Shri Ayyanar Temple, Shri Adaikalamkathar Temple and Shri Nalukidai Karuppar Temple, Pudhur Village, Iluppur Taluk, Pudukottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.03.2022 within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

Mr.G.Mathavan, learned counsel takes notice for the respondent. By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition has been taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

According to the petitioner, 'Vaikasi Thiruvizha' has been conducted by the forefathers of the petitioner for the time immemorial for which, lands in Survey No.187/2 and Survey No.283 were allotted by the King of the Pudukottai Samasthanam to the forefathers of the petitioner. For this year also, if the respondent grants permission and police protection, 'Vaikasi Thiruvizha' would https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.9462 of 2022 be conducted peacefully. In this regard, a representation has been given on 21.03.2022. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court by filing the present Writ Petition.

Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going to the merits of the matter, hereby directs the respondent/the Executive Officer, Devasthanam Thirukovilgal Office, Pudukkottai to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.03.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
