ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by T. S. SIVAGNANAM, J.) Heard Mr.M.Ramu, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Veerakathiravan, learned Senior Counsel for the respondents. 2.The petitioner seeks for a direction to renovate and reopen the District Purchase Centre (DPC) No.878, Elaikadividuthy, Karambakudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District by considering his representation dated 03.06.2021.

3.Learned Senior Counsel for the State Government submitted that there was an objection by one section of people for the Direct Purchase Centre stating that because of the Direct Purchase Centre, worshipers are unable to have assess to the Temple. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.10200 of 2021 4.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that due to political reasons the authorities have proposed to shift the Direct Purchase Centre.

5.The authorities concerned should take note of the fact that the purpose for establishing Direct Purchase Centre is not only to benefit the purchasers but also more importantly for the agriculturists and others, who are coming to display their product for sale. Therefore, action should be take in public interest. If there is any hindrance for the worshipers to worship the temple, adequate measures shall be taken to see that separate pathway is earmarked and barricading should be done so that people coming to temple can freely pass through.

6.Therefore, we direct the first respondent to cause an inspection to the area and issue appropriate directions so that the Direct Purchase Centre functions in the said village. 7.The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above observations and directions. No costs.
