PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS directing the respondents to grant selection Grade/appropriate pay fixation to the petitioner in the post of Administrative Officer/Accounts officer and grant annual increments for the years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 and consequently, revise all service and monetary benefits based on the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2025. ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant selection Grade/appropriate pay fixation to the petitioner in the post of Administrative Officer/Accounts officer and grant annual increments for the years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 and consequently, revise all service and monetary benefits based on the representation of the petitioner dated 20.12.2025. 2/6

The petitioner has been working as Assistant Commissioner (Accounts) in Thoothukudi Corporation appears to have made a claim for grant of selection grade and consequential pay fixation in the post of Administrative Officer/ Accounts Officer in which, he earlier worked and also for grant of annual increments for the years 2022-2023, while seeking consequential revision of his service and monetary benefits, submitted a representation dated 20.12.2025, to the respondent No.3 through the Commissioner, Thoothukudi Corporation. As the respondent No.3 has not taken any action on the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing present writ petition.
3. When this matter came up for consideration on an earlier occasion on 08.04.2026, this Court ordered notice to the respondents, accordingly. Mr.S.Vinayak, learned standing counsel entered appearance for respondents 3 and 4 and on instructions, he submitted that the representation dated 20.12.2025 submitted by the petitioner is received 3/6
by the respondent No.3 and appropriate action would be initiated and consequential orders will be passed after collecting all the information from the Thoothukudi Corporation and from the petitioner.
4. On the other hand, learned counsel for the petitioner also submitted that the petitioner is ready and willing to furnish all the information that may be sought by the respondent No.3.
5. In the light of the above, this Court without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the 3rd and 4th respondents to consider the representation dated 20.12.2025 submitted by the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. No costs.
