ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to give necessary Police Protection to the Sri Muthumariamman Kovil situated at Boothakudi Village, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District to conduct Panguni Pongal Festival from 06.04.2025 to 07.04.2025 and to perform other related activities of the temple as per the petitioners compliant dated 31.03.2025.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that there was a dispute between the petitioner and the villagers in 2/5

respect of conducting Panguni festival at Sri Muthumariamman Kovil situated at Boothakudi Village, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District from 06.04.2025 to 07.04.2025. In this regard, a peace committee meeting was convened by the revenue authorities between the parties on 01.04.2025. As per the resolution passed in the meeting, all the parties have agreed to conduct festival in a peaceful manner. Therefore, there is no dispute in granting permission to conduct festival. However, the 5th respondent police would provide adequate police protection to the panguni festival.
