PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.63/2024 on the file of the Respondent Police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The respondent police registered a case as against this petitioner in Crime No.63 of 2024 for the offence under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(c) and 25 Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and remanded him into judicial custody on 1/3

16.01.2024. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this petition seeking bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and other accused persons were found in possession of 140 kilograms of ganja. Hence the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submits that the contraband was recovered from the second accused. However, the petitioner has been arrested and he is languishing in jail from 16.01.2024. Therefore, he prays for grant of bail.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent opposed for grant of bail on the ground that on 15.01.2024, the petitioner was arrested along with the other accused and they were found in possession of 140 kilograms of contraband.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, considering the fact that the investigation is in the crucial stage and also considering the quantity of contraband involved this Court is not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner.
