ORDER

This petition has been filed challenging the impugned order passed by the 3rd Respondent dated 24.03.2026 only in respect of "Gramiya Themmangu Palsuvai Nigazhchigal" and also seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant permission to conduct "Gramiya Themmangu Palsuvai Nigazhchigal" dated 01.04.2026 in the event of Arulmigu Sri Mandhaiamman Temple festival in Kalpulichanpatti Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had already given an undertaking in writing to the 3rd respondent police, that the said Gramiya Themmangu Palsuvai Nigazhchigal will not exhibit any political colour in any way.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents also accedes to the said position.

4. In view of the above, the impugned order dated 24.03.2026 is quashed insofar as it relates to the conduct of Gramiya Themmangu Palsuvai Nigazhchigal. The petitioner is permitted to conduct the said Gramiya Themmangu Palsuvai Nigazhchigal during the festival of Arulmigu Sri Mandhaiamman Temple at Kalpulichanpatti Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District. It is made clear that the respondents are at liberty to intervene if the said program exhibits any political content.

5. In fine, this writ petition is allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
