Respondents PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing Respondents 1 to 4 to forthwith consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2026, and consequently direct the respondents to conduct a comprehensive enquiry and remove the encroachments made by the 6th to 11th respondents and restore and mutate the revenue records in favour of Arulmigu Pethakodangi Maalai Temple in respect of the lands comprised in Survey Nos. 780(1A), 780(1B), 780(1C), 780(2), 780(3), 780(4), 780(5) and 880(3), situated at Vadugambadi Village, Paraipatti area, Guzhiliyampaarai Taluk, Dindigul District, within stipulated time by this Honourable Court.

ORDER
(Judgment of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The prayer in this writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing Respondents 1 to 4 to forthwith consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.02.2026, and consequently direct the respondents to conduct a comprehensive enquiry and remove the encroachments made by the 6th to 11th respondents and restore and mutate the revenue records in favour of Arulmigu Pethakodangi Maalai Temple in respect of the lands comprised in Survey Nos. 780(1A), 780(1B), 780(1C), 780(2), 780(3), 780(4), 780(5) and 880(3), situated at Vadugambadi Village, Paraipatti area, Guzhiliyampaarai Taluk, Dindigul District, within a time frame.

Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 has produced the proceedings of the 4th respondent 3/6
date 25.02.2026 and submitted that as against the order granting pattas to individuals in respect of the temple lands belonged to Arulmigu Pethakodangi Maalai Temple, appeals have been filed before the 2nd respondent/District Revenue Officer, Dindigul, to rectify the mistakes crept in UDR and to issue pattas in respect of the temple lands. He would further submit that after such rectification in the revenue records, appropriate action to remove the encroachment made by the private respondents in the temple land, will be taken and the encroachment will be removed by due process of law.

Recording the said submission, the 2nd respondent is directed to dispose of the appeals filed by the non hereditary trustees expeditiously and rectify the mistakes in the UDR and thereafter, the authority concerned shall conduct a survey and find out the extent of encroachment made by the private respondents over the temple land. After identifying the extent of encroachments, the authority concerned shall remove the encroachment by due process of law after affording opportunity to the private respondents and all other parties concerned. 4/6
