[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents.

2. The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and protection for conducting the double bullock cart and horse race to be held on 14.04.2023 at Aranthangi road, Peravurani, Thanjavur District, between 6.00 a.m., to 10.00 a.m., in connection with the "Chitirai Festival" in Shri Neelakanda Vinayagar Kovil, Peravurani, Thanjavur District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.04.2023.

3. In view of the order of the Division Bench in Dhanaventhan vs. the Superintendent of Police, Thanjavur District and another in W.P(MD)No.2095 of 2023, dated 02.02.2023, this writ petition is allowed and there will a direction to the first respondent District Collector, Thanjavur District, to permit the conduct of bullock cart and horse race on 14.04.2023, subject to the following conditions: (a) Bullock cart and Horse Race are to be held on 14.04.2023 between 6.00 a.m., to 10.00 a.m., at Aranthangi road, Peravurani, Thanjavur District;

(b) There shall not be any betting or intoxication of bulls; and (c) If there is any violation of any one of the conditions imposed above, the concerned Police Officer is at liberty to take necessary action, as per law and stop the Bullock Cart and Horse Race forthwith.
