ORDER
This writ petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents 1 to 5 to stop the illegal quarrying of gravel by the sixth respondent in the temple land comprised in Survey No.31/3, Seeniapuram Village, Virudhunagar District, on the basis of the patta surreptitiously changed by him with the connivance of the fifth respondent.
2. The first respondent has filed a counter in which in paragraph 4, he has stated that the lease, which was granted in favour of the sixth respondent, had expired long ago and the Taluk Level Task Force was alerted to prevent any illegal transportation of gravel from the aforesaid land. He has further reiterated that in response to the statement made by the petitioner that the sixth respondent is still continuing quarry operation, a team of officials were deputed to verify and the team has found that there was no trace of any quarrying operations as of now. The counter has been filed on 14.02.2022.
3. There is no representation for the petitioner. However, recording the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of, since the prayer, that is, sought for in the writ petition is for a direction to stop the illegal quarrying. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
