Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to select and appoint the petitioner for the post of Secondary grade teacher in pursuance of the memorandum No. 5015/A4/2008 dated 14.05.2009 and on the basis of the certificate verification held on 05.06.2009 without insisting him to appear for "Teacher eligibility Test" and pass such other appropriate order.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2.This writ petition has been filed seeking for a Mandamus directing the respondents to select and appoint the petitioner for the post of Secondary Grade Teacher in pursuance of the memorandum dated 14.05.2009 and on the basis of the certificate verification held on 05.06.2009 without insisting her to appear for Teacher Eligibility Test. 3.I do not think that the present writ petition can be entertained on the sole reason that it is a belated one. The petitioner seeks for appointment based on a memorandum dated 14.05.2009 as well as the certificate verification held on 05.06.2009. This Court cannot appreciate the attitude of the petitioner in approaching this Court after https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

a period of nearly six years. Therefore, the writ petition is liable to be dismissed solely on the ground of delay and laches. Accordingly, the writ petition fails and the same is dismissed.
