: Contemnors/Respondents PRAYER: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying to punish the respondents / contemnors for the wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P [MD].No.17451 of 2020 dated 04.12.2020.

Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to remove the road encroachment on Ward No.6, GR.No.84/1 of Kottai Karuppar Street of Thirupathur Selection Grade Town Panchayat, Sivagangai District and also direct to stop the road laying work without removing encroachment pursuant to the work order No.433/2018/A2 dated 2.3.2020 on the strength of the petitioner representation dated 3.8.2020 according to law.

CONT.P(MD)No.834 of 2021 2.Mr.A.K.Manickam, learned Standing Counsel for Government, appearing for the respondents submitted that the encroacher one Karuppiah, had filed W.P.[MD]No.3620 of 2021, challenging the eviction proceedings, in which, an order has been passed on 25.02.2021, directing an enquiry to be conducted after conducting survey. It is submitted that the Tahsildar has passed necessary orders and survey is scheduled to be held on 26.07.2021. 3.In the light of the above, the respondents are directed to comply with the directions issued in W.P[MD].No.17451 of 2020 dated 04.12.2020.

4.With the above observation, the Contempt Petition is closed.
