[Order of the Court was made by ABDUL QUDDHOSE, J.] This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct the 'Vadamadu Manjuvirattu' event on 05.06.2022 as part of the festival in Arulmigu Usilavadi Karuppar Temple, at 1/3
Thalakkavur Village, Sivagangai District, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 18.04.2022.
2. The petitioner is a resident of the place where the aforementioned temple is situated. The petitioner states that the 'Vadamadu Manjuvirattu' event in the aforementioned temple has been performed from time immemorial. The petitioner has given a representation on 18.04.2022 to the respondents, seeking permission to conduct the above said event in the temple. Since the representation has not been considered till date, he has filed this writ petition.
3. Heard Mr.V.Kannan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Ms.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. No prejudice will be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's representation is considered on merits and in accordance with law. The petitioner seeks permission for conducting 'Vadamadu Manjuvirattu' event on 05.06.2022 as part of the festival in Arulmigu Usilavadi Karuppar Temple, at Thalakkavur Village, Sivagangai District. He has given a representation, dated 18.04.2022, for the said purpose. Admittedly, till date, the representation has not been considered. No counter affidavit has also been filed by the respondents. The festival is scheduled to take place on 05.06.2022.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 18.04.2022, seeking permission for the petitioner to conduct the 'Vadamadu Manjuvirattu' event on 05.06.2022 as part of the festival in Arulmigu Usilavadi Karuppar Temple, at Thalakkavur Village, Sivagangai District and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner and any other necessary party, whom the first respondent deems fit to enquire, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
