ORDER
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.S.Kumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal at the admission stage. 2.In all these matters, the writ petitioners are seeking for a direction to the Director General of Police, Chennai - 4, to consider their representations through which they seek for notional promotion to the post of Special Sub Inspector of Police. The petitioners in support of their claim rely on G.O.Ms.No.844, Home Department, dated 03.06.1997 and G.O.Ms.No.15, Home Department, dated 07.01.2010.
3.It appears that the petitioners have made representations only to the third respondent who is the Superintendent of Police and on the other hand, they have to make representations only to the first respondent who is the competent authority to consider the claim of the petitioners. Therefore, all these writ petitions are disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to make fresh representations to the first respondent
within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If any such representation is made within the time stipulated by this Court, the first respondent shall consider those representations and pass appropriate orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks thereafter. It is made clear that this Court is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioners as of now as it is for the first respondent to consider and find out as to whether the petitioners are entitled to the benefit under G.O.Ms.No.844, Home Department dated 03.06.1997 and G.O.Ms.No.15, Home Department dated 07.01.2010 as stated supra. No costs.
