ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent Police, in 1/3

connection with a case in Crime No.not known of 2024, for the offence punishable under Sections 498(A) and 506(i) IPC, has filed this petition seeking anticipatory bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner has demanded additional dowry from his wife/defacto complainant and threatened her with dire consequences. Hence the case.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent Police submits that based on the complaint lodged by the defacto complainant, the matter was referred to the Social Welfare Officer concerned. However, the petitioner without appearing before the Social Welfare Officer, has filed this petition seeking anticipatory bail.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that only on apprehension of arrest, the petitioner has not appeared before the Social Welfare Officer. He further submits that the petitioner is ready to appear before the Social Welfare Officer concerned and to co-operate with the enquiry. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the rival submissions made, the petitioner is directed to appear before the Social Welfare Officer concerned and to co-operate with the enquiry. The respondent police shall not harass the petitioner. 2/3
