O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus by directing the respondents to grant police protection to conduct the festival of Sree Kaliamman and Vinayagar temple at Avarampatti, Malayadipatti Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District on 15.07.2018 to 17.07.2018 based on the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2018.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is one of the members of the Temple Festival Committee. The said festival was conducted by the villagers belongs to Malayadipatti Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District. For this year, to celebrate the Aani festival, flag hoisting will be https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
commenced on 08.07.2018 and festival will be performed on 15.07.2018 to 17.07.2018. Therefore, the petitioner approached the third respondent for granting police protection to conduct the festival on that dates. Since no order has been passed, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader submits that the said representation would be considered on merits by taking note of the objections made by any rival group.
5. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, there is no dispute among the parties to conduct the festival and the petitioner is ready to submit an undertaking affidavit mentioning that there is no rival dispute among the parties to conduct the festival.
6. In the light of the submissions made by both parties, without expressing any opinion on merits, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 12.07.2018.
6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
