************ [Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.] The prayer sought for herein is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to permit the petitioner's villagers to conduct "Jallikattu / Manju Virattu" in Sirumaruthoor Kanmai Pottal, Vadivasal, Kandramanickam, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District on 25.04.2024 or any other date, considering the representation of the petitioner dated 31.03.2024. 2.In order to conduct Manjuvirattu [Jallikattu], at the village called Kandramanikam in Sivagangai District, which has already been a notified village as per G.O.(D)No.321, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries dated 24.04.2023, the petitioner had given a representation on 31.03.2024 to the third respondent / District Collector. However, so far, it has not been acted upon and no permission since has been given, the petitioner has approached this Court with the present writ petition. 3/7

3.Heard the learned Counsel on either side.

4.Learned Government Pleader would submit that since the village has already been notified under the said Government Order, the request of the petitioner would be considered and necessary orders would be passed immediately. 5.We have recorded the said submission made by the learned Government Pleader. As the program is scheduled to be held on 25.04.2024 and the village concerned is a notified village, we hereby direct the third respondent / District Collector to immediately process the representation dated 31.03.2024 and pass appropriate orders with regard to the plea raised by the petitioner on or before 24.04.2024 at 12.00 noon.
