*********** [Order of the Court was made by ABDUL QUDDHOSE, J.] This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the 3rd respondent herein to grant permission for conducting the 'Jallikattu' event on 30.05.2022 at Keezhappatti, 1/3
Nadumudalaikulam Post, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 25.04.2022.
2. The petitioner is a resident of Keezhappatti, Nadumudalaikulam Post, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District. The petitioner states that the 'Jallikattu' event in the aforementioned Village has been performed from time immemorial. The petitioner has given a representation on 25.04.2022 to the respondents, seeking permission to conduct the above said event in the Village. Since the representation has not been considered till date, he has filed this writ petition.
3. Heard Ms.A.Banumathy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Ms.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. No prejudice will be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's representation is considered on merits and in accordance with law. The petitioner seeks permission for conducting 'Jallikattu' event on 30.05.2022 in Keezhappatti, Nadumudalaikulam Post, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District. He has given a representation, dated 25.04.2022, for the said purpose. Admittedly, till date, the representation has not been considered. No counter affidavit has also been filed by the respondents. The event is scheduled to take place on 30.05.2022.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 25.04.2022, seeking permission for the petitioner to conduct the 'Jallikattu' event on 30.05.2022 in Keezhappatti, Nadumudalaikulam Post, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner and any other necessary party, whom the third respondent deems fit to enquire, within a period of ten (10) days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
