O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Today, Mr.Asokan, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tallakulam Range, and Mr.M.Kannan, Inspector of Police, Sellur Police Station, Madurai District, are present.

2. On perusal of the affidavit, it is seen that the petitioner's husband Govindarajan, aged about 75 years, had gone missing from 19.09.2017 and hence, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

3. The respondent - Police have filed a status report, wherein it is stated that a case in Sellur Police Station Crime No.2175 of 2017 for man missing has been registered and the investigation is in progress. Furthermore, in the status report, the Police have given the details of the steps that have been taken by them to identify the husband of the petitioner. In fact, the Police have recorded the statement of 25 persons, but no avail.

4. We are satisfied that the investigation is going on in the right lines so far. Since the petitioner's husband is not in the illegal detention of anyone, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the respondent - Police to proceed with the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

investigation in Sellur Police Station Crime No.2175 of 2017 and under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tallakulam Range and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any, from time to time.
